My sister purchased this machine a few years ago and I was waiting for my 4 year old washer to go out so I could get a REAL washer, we donated my HE washer and got my SpeedQueen now we have clean clothes! When I recently heard that our government may try to control washers I told my husband if this happens I am getting a spare Speed Queen, I recommend to all of my friends and family, I would take one as a B day gift, Christmas, Mother's Day, will never be without a Speed Queen.

Overall I am very pleased to have purchased the Speed Queen set (washer & dryer) 5 years ago. Both pieces have additional features that I didn't have with my previous appliances (Maytag), which I have been using according to size of load and type of materials. I did purchase the additional warranty coverage, which I recently had to apply to the washing machine because a problem occurred during the rinse cycle. Local service was excellent; the repair did not cost me anything due to the warranty.

My husband and I learned the hard way to do our due diligence before purchasing an appliance. Much has changed since we bought our previous GE washer 10 years ago. Long story short, a GE appliance repairman suggested we investigate Speed Queen models. The installer told us he never removed a Speed Queen washer in his 6 years of delivering appliances.
This new washer has many features, it's taken me awhile to experiment with the various cycles/options. Not only is it built like a tank, it's also quiet when it runs. Read the reviews and research the products from other manufacturers. Then buy the Speed Queen. The washer is fantastic and I hope this is the final washer I will ever purchase (given I'm 65+)!

Initially I thought that the smaller tub would be a negative but quite honestly I find the size more than adequate. More than anything I'm impressed by the efficiency and effectiveness of the washing process. My laundry is definitely cleaner. Stains which in the past would have demanded a second or third wash with added stain remover disappear after the first wash.

Love this machine! It actually has a feature that fills the tub with water if you live in a non-restricted water area. My clothes are clean! It has an agitator! I have owned a Bosch and a Maytag; and hands down, this is the best washer.

It is a very durable machine. The locking mechanism on the lid did break. That DISABLES THE ENTIRE MACHINE FROM SERVICE. Since I did not purchase the machine locally, NOBODY would service it under with the warranty. Important thing to know! However, Speed Queen would reimburse me for labor, if a repair shop provided the labor, also good to know. I did figure out how to jam the lock switch (online search) and Speed Queen sent me most of the part. I had to reuse a piece of plastic connected to the lid lock part, which wasn't easy to remove from the old part. Key thing is that i am a woman and I was able to fix it. I love that the front panel comes off and makes the machine easy to access if you need to repair it.

I have gone through three competitor washing machines in the past 10 years. The most recent one broke after 2.5 years. The repairman came out and the repair was $400. I asked him what brand or model he recommended, and he said Speed Queen. I love the Speed Queen washing machine. Our clothes have never been this clean. Our son has a mattress paid that had a light stain that never completely came out. The first wash in the Speed Queen and it came out as white as the wind driven snow. Also, this machine is super quiet. I have never been this satisfied with any appliance I have ever purchased. I like this washing machine so much I bought the matching dryer two weeks later.

I'm having trouble adjusting to this new machine. I'm particularly unhappy that the "normal" cycle is only "ECO" normal, meaning the rinse cycle is just water sprayed on the clothing or towels, etc to remove the detergent. I do not feel that's adequate to thoroughly remove the soap residue.To get around that I'm having to use a permanent press or heavy duty cycle for everything. I also like to be in control of my water levels which isn't possible on all settings. I'm very disappointed in how restrictive the pre-set settings are. I can say that it's a quieter machine and seems well built and sturdy.

Had another washing machine (GE) that was also a top loader with an agitator. After about 3.5 years it stopped spinning out anything more than a small load. Purchased this model because I was advised by "professionals" that this was the top of the line company with the top of line washing machine with the top of the line warranties. I was so trusting…but it was a mistake. This machine has been nothing but trouble since the moment the installers turned it on. I now have to get a plumber to redo plumbing because the machine can't pump upwards since it's located in my basement and though I understand that can be a legitimate problem I don't understand how my other machine was able pump upwards for years before we had an issue. This machine shaked so much I thought I had a defective model but was told by the warranty techs to get shock absorber annd not mount it on anything. Honestly it still sounded terrible when we took it off the pallet it was on but then again the plumbing could be the issue….I know have to invest in more time and resources in hopes that it will resolve the issue or prove that I'm not crazy and this machine is a lemon. Also, the agitation on a heavy cycle is anything but heavy. I have to use waaaay too much detergent just to get the clothes to smell clean and the clothes just barely seem spun out. Worst of all, though I was told the tub is a bit smaller but can handle a large load just probably not a king comforter, it in fact cannot handle ONE full hamper of clothing. With the amount of laundry my family produces one hamper or laundry bag has to be spread across two loads. And again they don't even smell clean after going through a heavy duty cycle and the touch screen is not immediately responsive. I have to press start often plus the lid locks during fill up. Despite all the "options" on this model the only one I really can use that mirrors a "normal" cycle is the heavy duty cycle as the others require an add on rinse because it saves water without it, so if I want that I have to deal with an increased wash time that's well over an hour- and I do not have time for that. One hamper will be more like 3 hours of washing plus the drying time- this machine is an absolute joke. Adding insult to injury this headache cost me over $1500! And it will cost me more because of the other steps I have to go through to prevent my so-called warranty from not being compromised or for proving there is something wrong with this machine other than my plumbing. What a catastrophic let down that I am stuck with because the vendor would not allow a return.

I purchased this the TR7 in December 2022 and the machine functioned great for 2 months. Now I have a motor error code and have been waiting 3 weeks for service. With 3 kids in the house I had to go buy a used washer while I wait on service.

Haven't had such a great washing machine since my old Maytag from 50 years ago! This hoopla about low water usage is so deceiving! If you have to wash and rewash and re-rinse multiple times with the front loaders, then exactly how are you conserving energy and water? My Speed Queen washes everything from delicates to rugs perfectly and quietly!

We wanted to love and enjoy this washer, however it's apparent the quality of Speed Queen is not what it used to be. Our new, high priced, supposed to last forever machine broke in less than one year (control board) - we were left without a washer for 3+ weeks and the customer service team never collaborated with each other and gave a different response each time we called. We will be sticking with Maytag in the future. A true let down Speed Queen!

Washers these days aren't built like they used to be - except for this one. It's the first machine we've had in many years that hasn't acted like it's going to fall apart in the first 2 to 3 years of use. Other washers bang and walk all over the washroom floor on a spin cycle, but the Speed Queen handles it smoothly and quietly. Thanks for making a product worth buying!

I have had to replace washing machines on average about every 6-8 years due to failure of some component or another. I finally decided to purchase the Speed Queen, which I always considered was not worth the cost difference, because all machine are alike, right? However, I WAS WRONG! The Speed Queen should have been bought years ago and I would have spent way less over the years replacing the units that were just not up to par. Within in the few first few weeks, my towels lost that old smell that I could never seem to get out of them before. My clothes felt softer and cleaner as it seemed to have removed the old build up of just not getting completely clean before. My laundry time was cut dramatically because this machine will fill up and be half way thru a load before my old machine ever filled. And this machine will fill up!All the way! Not just 2/3 like previous models I have had. It washes clothes, gets them clean and the warranty alone was worth every penny. If you are looking for a machine that will cut your time,literally, in half and do a better job of getting the clothes clean, I highly recommend making the investment in the Speed Queen. And on another note, just because a machine has a larger capacity tub doesn't make it clean better. The Speed Queen tub capacity is stated at being smaller, however, I can actually wash more clothes than before and they are cleaner. Go with the Speed Queen, my friend, it is worth literally every penny!
Last note, it is remarkably quite.

Pleased overall but getting used to not having a detergent dispenser is not easy. I asked a question right after our purchase and never got an answer so not happy about that.

Our old GE washer did not handle hardly any clothes without becoming unbalanced and walking all over the laundry room. We were afraid it would pull the water lines loose. This TR7 Speed Queen handles large loads great and is very quiet. No grinding and moaning noises like the GE. The TR7 also has plenty of load and water control options and will actually cover the clothes with water. The GE used so little water that sometimes the clothes had undissolved soap on them after washing, and that was on the "Heavy Duty and Deep Fill" settings. Love this machine!!!!!

The machine performance is outstanding. It is quiet, solidly built and easy to operate. I purchased this machine to replace another washer which was only 18 months old. It had such a serious problem that it's manufacturer deemed it unrepairable. This performs well in all cycles with different load levels and items of varying fabrics. It handles waterproof items as easily as any other item and always remains balanced.

This machine takes me back to mom's old machine that was built like a tank and washed clothes the way they were supposed to be washed. I had a similar one years ago that I decided to let go in an effort to "save money on my water bill". I purchased a HE upright washer and absolutely hated it from the minute I purchased it. The one saving grace of that HE machine was the glass top. Who would have thought that I would enjoy watching clothes being washed as much as I did. I only wish the Speed Queen had a glass top also. In all honesty I thoroughly enjoy watching the clothes through the glass top when I'm high.
